Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus as of April 1, 2020

As of April 1, 2020 public debt amounted to 53.7 billion rubles and increased by 8.9 billion rubles or 19.9% from the beginning of the 2020.

External public debt amounted to 16.6 billion USD as of April 1, 2020 and decreased by 0.5 billion USD or 2.9% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).

In January-March 2020 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 247.7 million USD in equivalent of which:
- 222.7 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 12.8 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China loans;
- 8.0 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 4.2 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans.

External debt redemption in January-March 2020 totaled 504.9 million USD of which:
- 221.6 million USD – Russian government loans;
- 171.2 million USD – Banks of China loans;
- 88.3 million USD – Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development loans;
- 22.0 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 1.3 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans;
- 0.5 million USD – USA Commodity Credit Corporation loans.

Domestic public debt amounted to 10.4 billion rubles as of April 1, 2020 and increased by 1.7 billion rubles or 19.1% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).

Placement of domestic foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 160.0 million USD in equivalent in January-March 2020. Redemption of foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 157.4 million USD and 69.1 million rubles.
