Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus as of July 1, 2020

As of July 1, 2020 public debt amounted to 52.6 billion rubles and increased by 7.8 billion rubles or 17.5% from the beginning of the 2020.

External public debt amounted to 18.0 billion USD as of July 1, 2020 and increased by 0.9 billion USD or 5.3% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).

In January-June 2020 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 1 817.8 million USD in equivalent of which:
- 1 391.5 million USD – Bonds on external financial markets;
- 362.6 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 41.4 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China loans;
- 16.6 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 5.7 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans.

External debt redemption in January-June 2020 totaled 786.2 million USD of which:
- 343.4 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 209.4 million USD – Banks of China loans;
- 176.6 million USD – Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development loans;
- 54.8 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 1.3 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans;
- 0.7 million USD – USA Commodity Credit Corporation loans.

Domestic public debt amounted to 9.3 billion rubles as of July 1, 2020 and increased by 557.5 million rubles or 6.4% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).

Placement of domestic foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 210.0 million USD in equivalent in January-June 2020. Redemption of foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 360.4 million USD and 161.2 million rubles.
