Standard&Poor’s affirms Belarus “B/B” Ratings
On October 5, 2018 Standard&Poor’s affirmed its “B/B” long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Belarus with stable outlook.
The stable outlook reflects expectation of Standard&Poor’s that Belarus' external imbalances will not escalate while the fiscal stance remains tight over the next 12 months, and that the government will retain market access and support from Russia to refinance upcoming public debt redemptions.
The Agency noted the recovery of economy, positive changes in the monetary policy framework that resulted in inflation decrease below 5% for the first time in the country's post-Soviet history.
