Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus as of September 1, 2021

As of September 1, 2021 public debt amounted to 57.2 billion rubles and decreased by 0.6 billion rubles or 1.1% from the beginning of the 2021.

External public debt amounted to 18.3 billion USD as of September 1, 2021 and decreased by 0.3 billion USD or 1.5% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).

In January-August 2021 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 999.7 million USD in equivalent of which:
- 813.6 million USD – Russian government loans;
- 142.6 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 20 million USD – OPEC Fund for International Development;
- 14.9 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China loans;
- 8.6 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans.

External debt redemption in January-August 2021 totaled 1 271.8 million USD of which:
- 554.5 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 403.1 million USD – Banks of China loans;
- 238.5 million USD – Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development loans;
- 71.8 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 3.2 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans;
- 0.7 million USD – USA Commodity Credit Corporation loans.

Domestic public debt amounted to 11.3 billion rubles as of September 1, 2021 and increased by 1.4 billion rubles or 14.3% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).

Placement of domestic foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 799.7 million USD in equivalent and 191.0 million rubles in January-August 2021. Redemption of foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 132.0 million USD and 92.2 million rubles.
