Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus
As of February 1, 2019 public debt amounted to 44.9 billion rubles and decreased by 0.4 billion rubles or 1.0% from the beginning of the 2019.
External public debt amounted to 16.7 billion USD as of February 1, 2019 and decreased by 0.2 billion USD or 1.1% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
In January 2019 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 59.9 million USD of which:
- 51.8 million USD – Russian government loan;
- 6.9 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 1.2 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development loan.
External debt redemption in January 2019 totaled 299.2 million USD of which:
- 209.2 million USD – The Export-Import Bank of China loans;
- 90.0 million USD – Russian government loans.
Domestic public debt amounted to 8.9 billion rubles as of February 1, 2019 and decreased by 8.7 million rubles or 0.1% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
In January 2019 there was no placement of domestic government bonds for legal entities and individuals. Redemption of foreign currency government bonds for individuals amounted to 400 USD.
