Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus
As of April 1, 2019 public debt amounted to 44.1 billion rubles and decreased by 1.3 billion rubles or 2.8% from the beginning of the 2019.
External public debt amounted to 16.6 billion USD as of April 1, 2019 and decreased by 0.3 billion USD or 1.7% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
In January-March 2019 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 187.2 million USD of which:
- 157.9 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 18.6 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 6.1 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China;
- 4.6 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans.
External debt redemption in January-March 2019 totaled 539.1 million USD of which:
- 219.4 million USD – Russian government loans;
- 212.8 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China loans;
- 88.3 million USD – Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development loan;
- 17.1 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 0.8 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans;
- 0.7 million USD – USA Commodity Credit Corporation loans.
Domestic public debt amounted to 8.7 billion rubles as of April 1, 2019 and decreased by 0.1 billion rubles or 1.6% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
Placement of domestic foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 146.1 million USD in January-March 2019. Redemption of foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 87.4 million USD and 100 million rubles.
