Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus
As of March 1, 2019 public debt amounted to 44.3 billion rubles and decreased by 1.1 billion rubles or 2.3% from the beginning of the 2019.
External public debt amounted to 16.7 billion USD as of March 1, 2019 and decreased by 0.2 billion USD or 1.3% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
In January-February 2019 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 139.8 million USD of which:
- 118.3 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 13.9 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 5.0 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China;
- 2.6 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans.
External debt redemption in January-February 2019 totaled 410.9 million USD of which:
- 209.2 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China;
- 194.4 million USD – Russian government loans;
- 7.3 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans.
Domestic public debt amounted to 8.6 billion rubles as of March 1, 2019 and decreased by 0.2 billion rubles or 2.7% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
Placement of domestic foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 14.8 million USD in January-February 2019. Redemption of foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 84.4 million USD.
