Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus as of March 1, 2020
As of March 1, 2020 public debt amounted to 46.8 billion rubles and increased by 2.0 billion rubles or 4.5% from the beginning of the 2020.
External public debt amounted to 16.9 billion USD as of March 1, 2020 and decreased by 0.3 billion USD or 1.6% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
In January-February 2020 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 179.5 million USD in equivalent of which:
- 157.2 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 12.8 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China;
- 5.4 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 4.1 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans.
External debt redemption in January-February 2020 totaled 376.2 million USD of which:
- 196.7 million USD – Russian government loans;
- 167.7 million USD – Banks of China loans;
- 11.8 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans.
Domestic public debt amounted to 9.1 billion rubles as of March 1, 2020 and increased by 0.3 billion rubles or 3.8% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
Placement of domestic foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 123.8 million USD in equivalent in January-February 2020. Redemption of foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 154.3 million USD and 34.1 million rubles.
