The Republic of Belarus is assigned sovereign credit ratings from CCXI
On September 3, 2018, Chinese Rating Agency China Chengxin International Credit Rating Co., Ltd. (CCXI) assigned the Republic of Belarus with AA+ national scale sovereign credit rating with a stable outlook. The Agency also assigned the Republic of Belarus with BBg global scale sovereign rating.
The Agency noted economic recovery after two years of recession as well as sustainability of fiscal balance due to the implementation of fiscal consolidation. Among other strengths CCXI experts named developed industry of Belarus, diversified production structure and high living standards of the population.
The rating could be upgraded in case of higher than expected economic performance, government debt portfolio diversification and increase in government efficiency.
Factors that might lead to the rating downgrade are slowdown of economic growth and structural reforms implementation, as well as increase in fiscal burden.
The credit rating is obtained as a part of preparation for issuing government bonds of Belarus on the domestic market of the People's Republic of China.
The ratings assigned will serve as an additional independent assessment of the creditworthiness of the Republic of Belarus for the foreign investment community.
